SMS Sending Overview
Last updated: June 19, 2026
To enable SMS messaging, your site must have an active SMSGlobal integration. VenueSumo integrates natively with SMSGlobal for all SMS delivery.
1. Set up your SMSGlobal account
Your VenueSumo account manager will set up your SMSGlobal account and send you your login credentials. We recommend this over setting up a standalone account directly with SMSGlobal — VenueSumo clients are set up as sub-accounts under our master account, which gives you access to a preferential SMS rate significantly below the standard public pricing. Setting up independently means you will be billed at the standard retail rate and will not be eligible for the discounted rate.
2. Create and manage SMS templates
Create and edit reusable SMS templates for consistent communication across your venue.
3. Send and review SMS messages
Messages can be sent from a Booking, Order, or Customer Record. SMS history is available under the SMS tab in each of these areas, showing sent messages, customer replies, and the date and time each message was marked as Sent.

4. Control access with SMS roles
Roles define what users can do in the system. SMS Roles specifically control who can manage templates, send messages, or edit content.
5. Send and review SMS messages
VenueSumo lets you send customers a unique payment link directly via SMS. The link is live and secure, meaning any payment made translates straight back to your VenueSumo platform in real time. This is particularly useful for taking payments over the phone without handling card details directly.
