How to configure a POS Facility for Table Ordering

Last updated: May 10, 2026

You can use an existing POS Facility for table ordering, but creating a new one may be more convenient. This allows you to use existing POS Categories and Products while simplifying sales monitoring with a dedicated facility. Either way, there are a few important variables to consider, which are covered in this document.

Navigate to Operations -> POS Facilities and select the POS Facility to edit

Fill in the fields that relate to Table Ordering:

Show Online

If set to YES:

  • The POS Facility will appear on the BOOK page under the Online Ordering tab, displaying only products linked to categories marked for online display.

If set to NO:

URLIf not entered, the POS Facility will not appear online. Each POS Facility set to show online must have a unique URL. However, if you have multiple locations with only one POS Facility each, the URLs can be the same, as the location is automatically appended to the URL.
Is Always Online

If set to YES:

  • Online orders will always be available, overriding any POS Facility or location-specific DAYS and DATES settings
  • This might be useful if you are selling merchandise

If set to NO:

Stop Sell Online

If set to YES:

  • Customers will see a message that online orders are closed, and online ordering will be disabled. This setting can also be accessed and updated directly through the POS login under SETTINGS

If set to NO:

  • Online orders will be available (subject to location hours and any DAY and DATES that may have been set)
Default Terminal Login

Online orders can be assigned to a specific login for tracking within the POS. If printers are set up for the login then dockets will automatically print when online orders are placed.

See guide How to Create a POS Terminal Login Dedicated to Online Ordering

If set to YES:

  • The product page on the booking site will span the full width on larger screens.

If set to NO:

  • The products will display side by side. On mobile devices, it will always appear full width
Show Stand Online

If set to YES:

  • Customers will be prompted to select a table number at checkout
  • If you are using table allocations for your QR codes, the table number will be automatically added to the customer's cart

If set to NO:

  • Customers will not have the opportunity to enter a table number.
Show Notes Online

If set to YES:

  • Customers will have the option to add an Order Note by clicking on an edit icon (not mandatory)

If set to NO:

For details on how each status affects order processing, refer to guide: Processing and Fulfilling Online Table Orders

If set to YES:

  • All terminals using the POS Facility will play a sound when a new online table order is placed
  • Orders with Default Order Status set to Open will chime
  • Orders with Default Order Status set to Processing or Complete won't chime

If set to NO:

  • No terminals will chime
Chime for Open Orders

If set to YES:

  • All terminals using the POS facility will play a sound (different to the New Order sound) every 5 seconds to remind operators that there are open orders that need attention
  • Orders with Default Order Status set to Open will chime
  • Orders with Default Order Status set to Processing or Complete will not chime

If set to NO:

  • No terminals will chime
