Settings - SMS Templates
Last updated: May 10, 2026
To use SMS templates, your site must have an active SMS API integration, which can be enabled by contacting support@venuesumo.com. If no integration is active, the operator will be notified. Each location can have its own API credentials, with SMS costs billed directly to the venue, allowing individual sites to manage and monitor their own usage.
| Name | A clear, descriptive label for the SMS template to help you identify its purpose (e.g. Booking Confirmation, Order Ready). |
| Message | This is the text that will be sent in the SMS. Keep it short and clear—SMS charges are based on message length, so longer messages may incur additional costs. |
| For | Bookings - There is an option to send an SMS from within a booking. Only SMS templates for "Bookings" type will be available for selection. If a template is selected, it will be populated with the relevant booking information, and the SMS can be edited if needed. Alternatively, within bookings, the operator can write a custom message and is not required to use a template. Orders - for updates about transactions like food, drink, or retail purchases, whether made online, in-person, or through the POS—typically not tied to a scheduled time. Customers - for general communication such as promotions, reminders, or updates not linked to a specific booking or order. |
| Active | Controls whether the SMS template is active. Green means active; click to toggle off (grey) if not in use. |
