How to test the cash draw opens from the POS
To ensure your POS is opening your cash draw correctly, please follow the steps below.
Things you'll need to conduct this test:
- VenueSumo POS Terminal login;
- A connected and working thermal printer;
- A cash drawer connected to your thermal printer via cable;
- The open cash drawer command entered correctly in VenueSumo (Settings > Locations > Printers); and
- Cash drawer "OPEN" settings turned on within your VenueSumo POS Terminal login (Settings > Logins).
Login to your POS Terminal with your login.
Once you've entered your PIN, click on the "No sale" button.
This should open the cash drawer.
If this did not work, check the cash drawer settings are set to OPEN within VenueSumo POS Terminal login or contact VenueSumo Support with the model of your Thermal Printer.
Add a product to your Checkout and click the Checkout button.
Choose payment method "Cash".
Add a Tendered amount and click "Pay in full".
This should open the cash drawer.
If this did not work, check the cash drawer settings are set to OPEN within VenueSumo POS Terminal login or contact VenueSumo Support with the model of your Thermal Printer.
