Create Stock Breakdowns
Define breakdowns to manage stock in different units.
Stock Breakdowns allow you to define how a stock item can be split or used in different units. For example, you might purchase an item by the case but use or sell it by the bottle or milliliter. Breakdowns ensure accurate stock conversions and reporting.
This guide shows you how to create a new Stock Breakdown and provides an example to help you get started.
Steps to Create a Stock Breakdown
Go to:
Stock > Breakdowns
Click:
+ New Breakdown
- Fill Out the Breakdown Details:
- Name: Enter the name of the breakdown (e.g., "Bottle to mL" or "T-Shirt Sizes").
- Unit Name: Enter the base unit used in this breakdown (e.g., "Bottle" or "Shirt").
Add Breakdown Lines:
For each unit or variation, enter:
- Name: (e.g., "Milliliter" or "Small")
- Abbreviation (Abbr): (e.g., "mL" or "S")
Display Order: Controls how options appear (use numbers like 1, 2, 3).
Save the breakdown.
- Now, when you click "Breakdown" inside a Stock Item, the system will automatically generate fields based on your Breakdown setup, allowing you to easily enter SKUs for each variation or unit.
