Venue Smart Payment Hardware Prompts

The following article outlines the key commands and functions for operating Move5000 payment terminals when using Venue Smart payment solutions.

To reboot the pinpad:

Press FUNC + CLEAR until the shutdown and reboot message appears on the screen, then release. Once rebooted to logo, Log out of the POS system and log back in and send test transaction.


To change internet connection (wifi or ethernet):

FUNC 6 should always be set to WIFI or ETH (ETHERNET if connected). Use F2/F3 on the touchscreen to navigate to WIFI/ETH and press OK.


To switch from Cloud mode to In-Store mode:

You can switch your device to 'standalone mode' by clicking:
FUNC 11112222 then press OK switch to standolone mode? Press ok. 

To switch from In-Store to Cloud mode:


1. Press FUNC 11112227 then press [OK]

2. The terminal will prompt ‘Configure Terminal Comms?’. Press the ‘ENTER’ key.

3. Then it was show "Wifi" selected and press [OK]

3. It will say "Host name then press [OK]

4. It will say "Port..." then press [OK]

5. It will say "SSL on or off" make sure it is on, then press [OK]

6. Profile "make sure it is PC EFTPOS", then press [OK]

7. Integrate mode please wait....

8. The Venue Smart logo should display on the screen and will take 60 seconds to reconnect.

9. Please test adding an item in your POS checkout and using "Card" payment method and click "pay in full" to see if the POS and payment terminal have connected.


If step 9 doesn't work, you may need to cancel and re-do the terminal pairing.


This is done by:

1. FUNC 8880 "Break Pairing?" Press [OK]

2. Press [OK] to generate a new 6-digit pairing code ###### will be displayed.

4. In Venue Sumo Backoffice, go to Settings > Locations > Payment Terminals.

5. On the row with the Payment Terminal you would like to re-pair, click the 3 dots and select "Pair Terminal".

6. "Enter the pairing code that is displayed on the payment terminal" and click "Pair"
